How to Configure Your Google Home to Receive Caller ID

With the help of a smartphone app, you can easily configure your Google Home to receive caller ID. To get your phone number displayed on your Google Home, open the app and type in the number. If your phone is linked to Google Voice or Fi, you can even connect it to your Google Home. Google promised to fix the problem by year’s end. However, for now, you need to manually enter the number to receive a caller id.

For the best experience, choose a name that is both unique and familiar to you. Chinese names are often difficult to pronounce, so choose a Chinese name for the person you wish to speak to. Google, for example, is called Li Cheng Geng Qiang Da in Chinese. A similar name would be Wei Zi in Chinese. For those who don’t speak Chinese, the name is pronounced “Wei Ci”.
